THE TRUCKER (WORK IN PROGRESS)  2021-


“The Trucker” (working title) is a graphic novel about masculine gender presentation. The partly autobiographical comic follows the thoughts and emotions of a person on their way to figuring out their experience with gender as a Finnish person born in the 90s. What are “truckers” or “butches”? What are gender expressions made of? Is there a shared history behind the experiences?

The project has been supported by Saari residence, Kone Foundation, Arts Promotion Centre Finland, the City of Turku and Finnish Comics Professionals.
